Scholarship Description:
The VBC PhD Program is one of the most successful doctoral programs in Europe, offering an opportunity for students to collaborate with leading researchers across various disciplines. Each year, the program recruits around 25-30 candidates from over 2000 applicants. The program provides flexibility in start dates, with the latest start by June 2025. Selected candidates will receive a stipend, and the program will reimburse travel expenses for in-person visits.


Eligibility:
To apply for the VBC PhD Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in Life Sciences from a 2-year program with 120 ECTS (or anticipate receiving it before 1st June 2025).
  • Have research experience in a relevant scientific area (6 months of full-time experience is recommended).
  • Submit a fully completed application form and references by the deadline.
  • Provide contact details for two referees, one of whom must have supervised the applicant in a research project.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in English (official certification not required).
  • Non-European degree holders must provide GPA scores.
  • Bachelor degree holders with First Class Honours and 240 ECTS may apply if they have substantial research experience.
