Eligibility/Qualification:
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. (or show evidence of near completion) in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field by the time of contract initiation. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in:
- Fabrication, characterization, and modeling of thermal detectors, particularly microbolometers
- Thermal, thermoelectric, and electronic simulations using TCAD software
- Cleanroom microfabrication of thermal sensing structures
- Optoelectronic characterization (electronic transport, responsivity, noise, response speed)
- Knowledge of read-out circuitry schemes for bolometers and photonic structure design in the LWIR for thermal sensing is a plus

- Work on developing advanced thermal sensor and microbolometer technology for various high-impact applications
- Conduct hands-on fabrication, modeling, and characterization of thermal detectors
- Collaborate on the development of new electronic and optical modeling techniques for thermal imaging systems
