Postdoc in Marine Ecology and Biogeochemistry: The Department of Science and Environment (DSE) at Roskilde University is inviting applications for a postdoctoral position in marine ecology and biogeochemistry to commence on April 1st, 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter. This position offers a 24-month contract for a molecular ecologist with experience in gas exchange and/or microsensor techniques.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. or equivalent in sediment biogeochemistry, greenhouse gas dynamics, and/or molecular ecology within seagrass ecosystems.
- Proficient in English, with a track record of publications in molecular ecology and/or greenhouse gas fluxes of seagrass meadows.
- Knowledge of marine ecology, plant physiology, and sediment biogeochemistry.
- Experience in using electrochemical microsensors, greenhouse gas analyzers, chemical imaging, and DNA extraction and sequencing.
Job Description:
- Lead a research project within the Green Seas Lab, focusing on unraveling key biogeochemical processes in anoxic epiphytic biofilms in seagrass ecosystems.
- Investigate the fate of fixed carbon in seagrass meadows, including decomposition processes, leaf decay rates, and greenhouse gas emissions.
- Mentor Ph.D. students within the research project’s scope.
