PhD Candidate in Microbiome Science: The Department of Biotechnology and Food Science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is inviting applications for a PhD position in microbiome science and engineering. Eligibility/Qualification

  • A relevant master’s degree in biotechnology, microbiology, microbial ecology, systems biology, or related fields.
  • Strong academic background with a minimum grade equivalent to a B on the NTNU grading scale.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral; certification (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS) may be required.
  • Experience in microbiological methods, bioinformatics, computational biology, or related experimental practices is preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work collaboratively within a research team.

Description

The successful applicant will work under the supervision of Prof. Dr. David Weissbrodt in the research division “Analysis and Control of Microbial Systems” (ACMS). Responsibilities include engaging in high-level research projects, enhancing scientific creativity, reporting research findings through publications and presentations, and contributing to the education of future biotechnologists.
