Eligibility/Qualification
- Minimum Education and Experience:
- PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related fields.
- Candidates in ABD (All But Degree) status will also be considered.
- Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong background in in vivo metabolic tracing, metabolomics, and mouse work.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team.
- A strong publication record and a keen interest in metabolic regulation in heart disease.
Job Description
The primary responsibilities of the Postdoctoral Associate include but are not limited to:
- Designing and leading research projects focused on in vivo metabolic tracing in mouse models.
- Performing metabolomic analyses to investigate metabolic pathways relevant to cardiac health.
- Engaging in scientific communication, training junior personnel, and contributing to grant writing and manuscript preparation.
- Overseeing mouse model work, maintaining accurate records of experimental results.
- Collaborating on evaluating current procedures, proposing new methods or improvements.
- Contributing to the development of research methodologies and the selection of instrumentation for metabolic studies.
- Presenting research findings at national conferences and preparing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications.
