Eligibility/Qualification:
- Strong interest in mitochondrial biochemistry, PQC, molecular mechanisms, and ageing biology.
- Background in protein biochemistry, molecular biology, or cell biology, with hands-on lab experience.
- Proficiency in protein biochemistry methods (e.g., immunoblotting, protein purification), mitochondrial biology techniques (e.g., mitochondria isolation, respiratory chain analysis), and experience with PQC/proteostasis.
- Knowledge of molecular cloning, genetic engineering, fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, and experience with Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a model system are advantageous.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills for an inclusive, collaborative research setting.
Job Description:
The selected candidate will join Dr. Andreas Kohler’s lab to explore PQC mechanisms in mitochondria, aiming to understand their role in cellular health and ageing.
