Post-Doctoral Position in Thin Film Solar Cells: ICFO, a leading research institute in photonics, is offering a postdoctoral position to a highly qualified and motivated young scientist in the study and fabrication of nanophtonic structures for enhancing thin-film solar cell efficiency. The successful candidate will join the Organic Nanostructured Photovoltaics group led by Prof. Dr. Jordi Martorell in a collaborative and stimulating environment.

Post-Doctoral Position in Study and Fabrication of High-Efficiency Thin Film Solar Cells

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A Ph.D. (or evidence of near completion) in photonics, photovoltaic engineering, materials science, optoelectronic devices, physics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in the fabrication of high-efficiency photovoltaic devices, particularly organic, perovskite, or silicon solar cells.
  • Expertise in material development, solar cell testing, and engineering various solar cell components.
  • Familiarity with computational modeling tools such as Python, MATLAB, or Comsol is a plus.

Job Description:
The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct research in light management and nanophtonic structure fabrication.
  • Enhance photovoltaic parameters like open circuit voltage and short circuit current in thin-film solar cells.
  • Focus on developing devices suitable for electric vehicle-integrated photovoltaics (VIPV).
  • Participate in collaborative projects and report findings to the research group.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary determined based on experience and responsibilities, aligned with national and international fellowship standards (e.g., Ramon-y-Cajal, Marie Skłodowska-Curie).
  • Family allowance available for eligible candidates.
  • Initial contract duration of 1 year.
