Academic Degree | Master’s degree (or equivalent) in biochemistry, (systems) biology, pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology, or related fields. |
Research Interest | Interest in both wet lab and computational work; experience in cell biology preferred. |
Programming Skills | Basic programming skills are appreciated but not mandatory. |
Experience | Experience in cell culture and/or computational data analysis is preferable but not required. |
Language Proficiency | Excellent command of written and spoken English (C1 Level), good skills in German are desirable but not strictly required. |
Description
The selected candidate will engage in independent research work under the supervision of Ass.-Prof. Karin Ortmayr, PhD. The research will primarily focus on understanding the metabolic adaptation that promotes cancer cell quiescence and regrowth. Responsibilities include mastering cellular techniques, performing genetic perturbations, analyzing data using computational methods, formulating and verifying hypotheses, writing manuscripts for publication, and participating in teaching activities. The position is an excellent opportunity to develop research skills in an international academic environment and includes options for further training and personal development.
