Description
The project, titled “Informing Future Numerical Standards by Determining Features of Non-Standard Mathematical Hardware,” aims to automate existing manual methods for understanding numerical behavior in high-performance computing. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Dr. Mantas Mikaitis, focusing on designing algorithms, preparing publications, and presenting research both nationally and internationally. The role will also involve mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students and fostering academic collaborations.
Key activities include:
- Developing tools for comprehending floating-point arithmetic.
- Creating models of mathematical hardware.
- Designing software wrappers for various hardware devices such as NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel accelerators.
