- Applicants must apply for a place on a PhD programme at the University of Reading for study based at Reading or remote/distance learning.
- Students wishing to study off-campus are only eligible for tuition fees and training/development allowance (not stipend).
Description
The International PhD Studentships at the University of Reading provide crucial financial support and training opportunities for aspiring researchers. The studentships cover tuition fees at the international rate, a generous training and development allowance of £1,000 annually, and for full-time students studying on-campus, a subsistence grant (stipend) equivalent to the UKRI minimum stipend. The awards are valid for a maximum duration of four years for full-time studies and six years for part-time studies.

- Apply for Admission: Submit an application for admission to a PhD programme via the online admissions portal. Indicate “International Research Studentship Competition” in the funding section of your application.
- Complete the Studentship Application Form: Fill out the International PhD Studentship Application Form; this ensures your School is aware of your interest in applying for the studentship.
Note: After the application deadline, an internal selection process will occur within Schools, nominating two candidates for the main competition.
