Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD in Biology, Biotechnology, Medicine, or equivalent fields (candidates with degrees in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics will also be considered if they have relevant experience).
- Experience in protein biochemistry/purification, particularly for nucleic acid enzymes.
- Knowledge of crystallography and/or cryo-EM is a plus.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
- Good presentation skills (ideally, having presented at least one international conference).
- A proactive and collaborative attitude, and enjoyment of working in interdisciplinary environments.
- At least one publication as the first author in a peer-reviewed journal.
Job Description
As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will be responsible for:
- Establishing previously unknown mechanisms of DNA packaging in plastids.
- Purification of proteins involved in the DNA packaging process.
- Conducting biochemical and structural studies utilizing cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) and protein crystallography.
