Postdoctoral Fellow – Decentralised Science: The University of Sydney’s Faculty of Engineering is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our innovative research team dedicated to Decentralised Science. Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Computer Science or a related field (candidates nearing completion of their PhD may also be considered)
  • Proven track record of publishing in top-tier conferences, particularly in distributed databases/systems
  • Expertise in at least one of the following areas: distributed computing (e.g., consensus algorithms), protocol design and analysis, or game theory
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Experience in proof-of-concept implementation for evaluating the performance of distributed algorithms and systems is highly desirable

Job Description:
The successful candidate will:

  • Collaborate closely with Assoc. Professor Jiangshan Yu and his HDR students to advance research objectives by developing algorithms, protocols, and systems, along with their applications.
  • Actively participate in the research group’s activities, including seminars, reading groups, and collaborative projects.
  • Conduct high-quality independent research that complements and enhances current projects in decentralised systems.
  • Have opportunities to attend and present research findings at leading conferences and mentor HDR and Honours students.
