Eligibility/Qualification
- Ph.D. in biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, molecular biology, or a related discipline
- Prior postdoctoral experience is not necessary, but is desirable
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Experience in maintaining and working with mammalian cell cultures
- Demonstrated proficiency in microscopy techniques and data analysis
- Background and experience in molecular biology
- Experience in mouse or other small rodent handling
Job Description
The successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Designing experiments, generating data, and data analysis
- Presenting research findings at scientific meetings
- Writing manuscripts
- Assisting in the daily operations of the laboratory
- Maintaining mammalian cell cultures in a sterile BSL-2 environment
- Generating reporter gene constructs and using them in RNAi knock-down experiments
- Designing guide RNAs and using CRISPR for gene editing
- Designing AAV vectors for gene therapy on mouse models
- Capturing fluorescent images and quantifying data
- Purifying proteins and performing western analyses
- Maintaining a mouse colony and establishing genetic crosses
- Maintaining detailed experimental records
- Using standard laboratory software
- Supervising and training junior lab members in laboratory procedures
- Staying updated on relevant research through literature searches and field developments
- Preparing research materials for publications and presentations
