Postdoctoral Researcher – A. Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related discipline.
- Previous postdoctoral experience is not required.
Job Description:
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain cancer cells in a sterile BSL-2 environment according to safety protocols.
- Generate reporter-based stable cell lines using lentiviral and genome editing methods (e.g., CRISPR).
- Conduct qualitative and advanced quantitative fluorescence microscopy analyses.
- Extract and purify proteins or protein assemblies from cancer cells for proteomic and structural evaluations.
- Supervise and train junior lab members in biochemical and cellular techniques.
- Stay updated on relevant research through literature searches and developments in the field.
- Prepare research materials for publications and presentations, and share findings at scientific meetings.
- Maintain detailed experimental records in a laboratory notebook.
- Contribute to ongoing experiments by suggesting innovative approaches or protocol amendments.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of researchers at the University of Iowa and beyond.
