Description:
The Sussex Drug Discovery Centre, under the supervision of Prof. John Spencer, invites applications for a PhD studentship funded by industry partners. This project is aimed at exploring the potential of hop components as new antimicrobial agents, with the goal of developing a new class of antibiotics to address the critical issue of antibiotic resistance. The researcher will work with state-of-the-art laboratory equipment and techniques, gaining extensive experience in synthetic and medicinal chemistry.
