Eligibility/Qualification
- Essential Criteria:
- PhD in Chemical Biology and/or related field.
- Expertise in Chemical Biology.
- Track record of writing papers, evidenced by publications or submitted manuscripts in refereed journals.
- Evidence of data presentation at scientific meetings.
- Ability to work supportively in a laboratory environment and supervise junior co-workers.
- Proactive approach to laboratory safety management.
- Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in Biological Assay design and development.
- Experience with ITC and/or other methods to determine binding constants.
- Experience in Cell Culture.
- Experience with wider Chemical Biology/Biology techniques (western blot, proteomics, IC50, SPR, crystallography).
- Experience working with CROs.
- Experience with Protein Expression.
Job Description
The successful candidate will lead the chemical biology research programme, involving:
- Design and conduct experiments.
- Liaise with world-leading STPs at the Francis Crick Institute.
- Develop and deploy assays.
- Train junior researchers.
- Assay the biological activity of therapeutic molecules developed in the lab and guide their optimization.
- Collaborate with chemists across the research portfolio.
- Contribute to research papers, present findings, and develop research proposals.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
