Doctoral Student Position in Stochastic Dynamics: The Research Group on Multiscale and Stochastic Dynamics at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) is seeking applications for a doctoral student position. The position is funded by a stipend from the TUM International Graduate School of Science and Engineering for the project “Dynamical Systems Uncertainty Quantification for Climate Systems.” This opportunity is open to candidates with a strong background in mathematics or theoretical physics.

Doctoral Student Position in Multiscale and Stochastic Dynamics

Location: Technical University of Munich, Department of Mathematics, Germany

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A Master’s degree or equivalent (to be completed by the end of 2025 at the latest)
  • Strong mathematical background
  • Good English language skills (written and oral)
  • Excellent academic grades
  • Programming skills

Job Description:

  • Join the research activities of the Multiscale and Stochastic Dynamics group
  • Contribute to the development of the research project on “Dynamical Systems Uncertainty Quantification for Climate Systems”
  • Engage in interdisciplinary mathematical research
  • Participate in international exchange programs and academic collaborations

Benefits:

  • Stipend for up to four years (24+24 months)
