Eligibility/Qualification
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years (60 months) or be expecting to obtain one within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, organic chemistry, or a related field.
- Experience with solution-state and/or solid-state NMR instrument operation and data analysis.
- Coding/computational skills, preferably in programming languages like Python.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Job Description
The Post Doctorate Research Associate will be part of the Biomolecular Pathways team within PNNL’s Environmental and Molecular Sciences Division. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting biological and environmental analyses using advanced techniques such as:
- Solution-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy
- Solid-state NMR spectroscopy
- Fourier-transform mass spectrometry (FTMS)
- Operating and maintaining instrumentation, troubleshooting when necessary.
- Designing and conducting experiments, analyzing, and interpreting data related to biological and environmental complex mixtures.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams including chemists, biologists, and project managers, and contributing to publications and conference presentations.
