Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s or equivalent degree in Physics, Astronomy, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field by the enrolment starting date (between 1 May and 1 October 2025).
  • Strong background in cosmology, astrophysics, physics, mathematics, and/or computer sciences.
  • Research experience and relevant skills are important for selection.
  • Proficiency in English is required.

Description

The successful candidate will engage in analyzing the weblike distribution of galaxies in large galaxy redshift surveys and the corresponding velocity flows. The project aims to enhance the understanding of the cosmic web structure through the application of state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to account for various biases encountered in photometric surveys. Supervised by professionals from both institutions, the candidate will work collaboratively across Europe, contributing significantly to the field of cosmic web research.
