Job Description:
The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct research in mathematical and computational biology at the interface of theory and experiments.
  • Participate in seminars, group meetings, journal clubs, and other research activities of the MCBC and the associated Departments of Mathematical and Biological Sciences.
  • Mentor students and assist in the collaborative research efforts.
  • Work on building successful interactions with experimental scientists.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will have experience or interest in one or more of the following areas:

  1. Neuroscience
  2. Systems biology / biochemical systems
  3. Collective behavior
  4. Machine learning / artificial intelligence

The postdoctoral fellow will be co-mentored by a theorist and an experimentalist and will have opportunities to engage with researchers in pharmaceuticals, IBM Research, and other industrial partners. Additionally, there may be opportunities to teach one course per semester, contingent on availability.
