Eligibility/Qualification:
- A master’s degree (or equivalent) in Mathematics before the start date of the PhD position.
- Strong background in at least one of the following areas: numerical analysis, machine learning, partial differential equations, or functional analysis.
Job Description:
- Conduct research on the stability of deep learning methods in applications to PDEs and dynamical systems.
- Investigate the role of instabilities and their impact on learning tasks in applied mathematics.
- Actively contribute to the activities of the Vienna School of Mathematics.
- Work 30 hours per week under the supervision of S. Lanthaler and P. Petersen.
- Position start date: May 1, 2025.
