Eligibility/Qualification:
- Education Required: A PhD in Biology, Physiology, or related fields.
- Experience:
- Expertise in kidney physiopathology, vascular biology, and respective in vitro/in vivo models.
- Experience handling animal experiments (Felasa B/C license or equivalent).
- Proficiency in conventional molecular and cellular assays and spatial omics (MALDI MSI, transcriptomics).
- 0–4 years of experience post-PhD is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and open to feedback.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Knowledge of bioinformatics tools such as R or Python is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Track record of scientific productivity, including first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Job Description:
The selected candidate will:
- Conduct spatial omics (metabolomics and transcriptomics), molecular assays (e.g., immunohistochemistry, cell culture), and in vivo mouse experiments focused on glomerular endothelial dysfunction in kidney aging and CKD.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data from state-of-the-art platforms.
- Present research findings at scientific meetings and conferences.
- Prepare and submit research articles and reviews.
- Collaborate with national and international research teams and engage in academic supervision of students.
- Assist in drafting grant and fellowship applications.
The postdoctoral researcher will work under the supervision of Dr. Sébastien J. Dumas and benefit from the expertise and advanced platforms available at I2MC. The lab has a focus on the endothelial niche and its role in kidney pathophysiology, providing translational potential to the research.
