- Strong background in cellular physiology and electrophysiology.
- Experience with patch clamp techniques and intracellular calcium measurements is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will:
- Investigate the cellular mechanisms underlying arrhythmias in lamin cardiomyopathy using a lamin knockout mouse model.
- Conduct patch clamp recordings in isolated cardiac myocytes to study cellular behavior and intracellular calcium dynamics.
- Perform in vivo electrophysiology and advanced imaging techniques, including super-resolution and electron microscopy.
- Correlate preclinical findings with clinical data from patients at the Manchester Heart Institute.
- Collaborate on various projects within a leading cardiac physiology group and the Manchester British Heart Foundation Centre of Research Excellence.
