Eligibility/Qualification–
Essential qualifications: Ph.D. in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Computational Materials Science, Nanoscience, or related engineering disciplines from a recognized University/Institute.
Desirable Experience:
- Strong background in density functional theory (DFT), molecular dynamics simulations, or machine learning for materials discovery.
- Proven track record in energy storage/conversion materials (batteries, hydrogen storage, electrocatalysis) or high-pressure materials physics.
- Prior publication record in high-impact peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Age limit: 35 years
Key Responsibilities
Perform high-level computational modeling and simulation of advanced materials for energy applications.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams under the ANRF PAIR initiative.
Prepare research reports, present findings at international forums, and manuscript drafting for top-tier peer-reviewed journals.
Job/Position Description-
Applications are invited for a Research Associate (RA) position in the Department of Physics, IIT Ropar to work on an advanced interdisciplinary research project funded under the ANRF PAIR DEARMS initiative. The project will be carried out under the direct guidance of Prof. Rajeev Ahuja.
Job description: Research Associate (RA) Location: IIT Ropar, Rupnagar, Punjab
Number of positions: 1 (one)
Type of job: Full time (on contract)
Duration: The position is initially for one year. Extendable up to 2 years based on satisfactory performance.
Project Focus Areas: Computational Materials Science, Energy Materials (Batteries, Hydrogen Storage & Production, Sensors), and High-Pressure Physics.
Remuneration: A salary of Rs 58,000/month will be provided (+HRA if applicable)
