Eligibility/Qualification–

Essential qualifications: PhD degree in Chemical Engineering/Chemical Technology/allied branches /Chemistry with good number of publications in reputed journals.  Candidate must have obtained at least 60% marks (or 6.5 CGPA) (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST) in all qualified degrees. Candidate must have experience in material synthesis and handling different projects.

Age limit: 35 years

Desirable qualifications: (a) Hands-on experience in handling experimental set-up, performing experiments, and collecting data, (b) Experience in analysis of different catalyst characterization techniques e.g. BET, XRD, TPX, TGA, XPS, Raman, SEM, TEM etc., (c) Experience of reaction kinetic and modelling and (d) Priority will be given to candidate having engineering background and industrial experience. 

Job/Position Description- 

Applications are invited for a Research Associate (RA) position in the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Ropar under the scheme of National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) sponsored by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) from Indian nationals for one position for the research project titled, “Pilot plant demonstration of hydrogen production from agricultural waste through integrated pyrolysis and catalytic steam reforming process” as per the following details.   

Job description: Research Associate (RA)

Location: IIT Ropar, Rupnagar, Punjab 

Number of positions: 1 (one)

Type of job: Full time (on contract) 

Duration: The position is initially for one year. Extendable up to 2 years based on satisfactory performance. 

Responsibilities: (i)Raw materials collection, screening and analysis, (ii)Hands-on experience in heterogenous catalysts synthesis and characterizations,(iii) Perform experiments at optimise process conditions, and analyse the collected data, (iv) Monitoring the quality and quantity of the product, (v) Scaling up the overall process etc.

Remuneration: A salary of Rs 58,000/month will be provided (+HRA if applicable).
