Postdoctoral Associate in of Cell Signalling: The Department of Biochemistry at the University of Oxford is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Ranes lab. This position will focus on the molecular mechanisms driving the Wnt/beta-catenin signalling pathway at the plasma membrane, utilizing a multidisciplinary approach incorporating biochemistry, cell biology, and structural biology.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD/DPhil or near completion of a PhD/DPhil in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related discipline.
  • Substantial experience in basic molecular biology techniques, particularly recombinant DNA techniques.
  • Proven experience in the expression and purification of recombinant proteins.
  • Familiarity with biochemical and biophysical characterization methods.
  • Knowledge and experience in mammalian cell culture and associated cell-based techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multitask lab duties independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the capacity to write for publication and present research proposals and results.

Job Description:
In this role, you will build on previous successes in the biochemical reconstitution of the beta-catenin destruction complex. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Investigating the mechanisms that underpin Wnt pathway activation and termination at the plasma membrane using in vitro and cell-based approaches.
  • Studying the regulation and recruitment of cytoplasmic signal transduction proteins to Wnt receptor complexes.
  • Utilizing state-of-the-art tools such as in vitro protein reconstitution, CRISPR approaches, and super-resolution microscopy.

This full-time fixed-term position is funded by the Wellcome Trust for up to 3 years.
