Job Description
The research positions will focus on the following topics:
- Analysis of Small-Angle Scattering Data: Understanding the cell wall nanostructure through high-performance computing and scattering methods.
- Relevant skills: scientific programming, high-performance computing, SAXS/SANS, wood science.
- Preparation and Characterization of Composites: Working on bacterial cellulose-hemicellulose composites that mimic plant cell wall structures.
- Relevant skills: (bio)chemistry, TEM, SAXS/WAXS, cellulose/polysaccharides.
- Molecular Modeling of Cellulose Structures: Utilizing molecular modeling techniques to study cellulose microfibril formation.
- Relevant skills: scientific programming (Python, Unix shell), molecular modeling.
- Characterization Using Experimental Methods: Employing spatially resolved methods to characterize wood and plant samples.
- Relevant skills: scattering methods, X-ray nano-microtomography, spectroscopic imaging, nanomechanical mapping.
All roles will involve writing and publishing research articles, collaboration, and potentially teaching and supervision.
