🎯 Job Description
The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to an innovative project using magnetic fields to orient nanoparticles in polymer matrices, aimed at developing advanced aerospace composites for functions such as lightning protection, de-icing, and sensing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent and collaborative research on nanostructure alignment using Halbach arrays
- Engage with industrial collaborators through the 2D-TECH Vinnova Competence Center
- Publish results in high-impact journals and present at international conferences
- Contribute to teaching (~15% of the position)
- Supervise master’s or PhD students
- Participate in cross-disciplinary collaborations within academia and industry
🎓 Eligibility/Qualification
Mandatory:
- Ph.D. in Mechanical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering with a nanomaterials/nanocomposites focus (degree awarded within the last 3 years)*
- Strong communication skills in English
- Demonstrated potential in both research and education
Preferred:
- Background in 2D materials and/or polymeric materials
- Experience in soft matter processing, field–matter interactions, or advanced characterization (e.g., rheo-SAXS)
*Exceptions to the 3-year Ph.D. eligibility limit may be considered for documented reasons (e.g., parental/military/sick leave).
