Postdoctoral Fellow – Karim Lab: The University of Southern Mississippi is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled individual to join the Karim Lab as a Postdoctoral Fellow. Eligibility/Qualification
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or DVM/PhD
- Experience with ticks and animal models
- Strong background in entomology, computational biology, molecular biology, and immunology
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Amblyomma ticks and Rickettsia parkeri cultivation
- Understanding of functional genomics
- Working knowledge of tick biology, host immunology, and transcriptomic analysis
Job Description
- Collaborate with the PI and research team to plan, design, and execute scientific research.
- Perform experiments using molecular tools to study AGS.
- Maintain laboratory tick colonies.
- Keep detailed laboratory notebooks and data records.
- Write manuscripts, grant proposals, and abstracts.
- Present research findings at scientific conferences.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
