Research Area

Eligibility/Qualification

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in Physics or a related field by the date of appointment.
  • Previous on-site experience in running nuclear or high-energy physics experiments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in experimental physics and analysis of large datasets.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor graduate students.

Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct research in experimental nuclear physics.
  • Participate in detector construction, operations, and data analysis.
  • Contribute to proposal preparation, editorial work, and results presentation.
  • Engage in outreach and career development activities.

Specific Job Duties:

  • 60% CMS heavy ion data analysis and technical work
  • 20% CMS upgrades
  • 10% EIC simulation studies
  • 10% Assisting faculty in mentoring graduate students
  • Willingness to travel to Switzerland for LHC collaboration.
