Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in bioinformatics, computational biology, systems biology, biology, or related fields.
  • Experience in structural and functional protein annotation.
  • Familiarity with UNIX/Linux-based operating systems.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages for data analysis.
  • Strong command of scientific English (written and spoken); knowledge of German or French is an advantage.
  • Willingness to spend several months abroad for secondments; must comply with international mobility conditions.

Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Integrate multi-omics data and improve workflows.
  • Develop machine learning algorithms for identifying proteins and antimicrobial peptides.
  • Conduct experimental studies within the METAMIC project, including metagenomic sequencing of field samples.
  • Apply improved workflows in real-world studies.
