IIT Guwahati, India invites application for Project Scientist at IIT Guwahati from eligible and interested candidates
About- The Research and Development Section, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG), invites applications from motivated and qualified candidates for multiple project-based positions under the North Eastern Science and Technology (NEST) Cluster. The appointments are temporary, and the selection will be made through an online interview scheduled for 22nd October 2025.

Research/Job Area- Science/Engineering/ Technology
North Eastern Science and Technology (NEST) Cluster — Multidisciplinary R&D projects focusing on science, engineering, innovation, and technology development in the North-Eastern Region of India.
Location- IIT Guwahati
Eligibility/Qualification–
1. Research Scientist III cum CEO
- Doctoral degree in Science/Engineering/Technology
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in R&D, teaching, or industry
- At least 3 years of industry experience (mandatory)
- Foreign experience desirable
- Skills in liaisoning and innovation preferred
2. Principal Project Associate
- Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in R&D or related areas
- Strong academic record
3. Research Associate-I
- Ph.D. in Science/Engineering/Technology
- Minimum 2 years’ R&D experience
- At least five SCI-indexed publications
4. JRF (Computer Science/IT)
- B.Tech in Computer Science/IT or related field
- Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience
5. JRF (Marketing/HR)
- MBA in HR or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in HR/project handling
6. JRF (GATE)
- Postgraduate degree in relevant field with valid NET/GATE score
- Degree in Biotechnology, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Computer Science, AI, or Chemical Engineering
7. Technical Assistant
- 10th/12th grade with minimum 3 years’ experience in similar organizations
- Diploma holders preferred
8. Laboratory Attendant
- 10th with 2 years’ experience or 12th pass
- Basic office/lab maintenance skills
9. Training Incharge
- Graduate degree in Science with B.Ed. (First Division)

Designation
- Multiple Project-Based Positions (Research, Technical & Administrative)
- Conduct and support project-based R&D activities under the NEST Cluster.
- Coordinate technical, research, and administrative functions as per the assigned role.
- Manage documentation, data analysis, and project operations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project milestones.
- Maintain research facilities and assist in knowledge dissemination and training.
