Eligibility/Qualification
- MSc degree in physical chemistry, food physics, applied physics, mechanics, material science, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, or biotechnology
- Strong background in rheology, fluid dynamics, or bioprocess engineering
- Excellent written and spoken English (C1 level)
- Programming skills in Python are a plus
- Experience with rheology and AFM (Atomic Force Microscopy) is advantageous
- Collaborative mindset for working with academia and industry experts
Job Description
PhD candidates will perform the following activities:
- Prepare and rheologically characterize various surface-active chemical (SAC) films.
- Develop surface rheology protocols and colloidal probe AFM methods.
- Investigate the structure-function properties of SAC films.
- Elucidate key mechanisms of SAC-biofilm interactions.
- Develop guidelines for mitigating SAC film formation.
Candidates will collaborate closely with industry partners and participate in a multi-disciplinary research environment.
