Eligibility/Qualification
- A PhD or an equivalent foreign degree in Materials Engineering, Process Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or related fields.
- A doctoral degree awarded no more than three years prior to the application deadline is preferable.
- Knowledge and experience relevant to metallic materials.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Quality and relevance of publications and PhD thesis will be evaluated.
- Personal characteristics suitable for research work.
- Fluency in spoken and written English; additional proficiency in a Scandinavian language is advantageous.
- Experience in material flow analysis (MFA) and life cycle assessment (LCA) is a plus.
Job Description
The main goal of this research project is to optimize steel processing methods to improve recycling and minimize reliance on primary iron. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting both experimental and theoretical work.
- Supervising graduate and collaborating with PhD students.
- Engaging in teaching activities as required.
- Publishing scientific articles and presenting at international conferences.
- Managing and planning research projects with a focus on sustainability and circularity.
