Eligibility/Qualification:
- Required:
- University degree (M.Sc. or comparable) in Biology or a related field.
- Practical experience with microbiological techniques.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Desirable:
- Excellent university degree.
- Knowledge of molecular biological methods.
- Experience in large-scale evolution experiments.
- Understanding of ecological and evolutionary theories.
- Experience with mass spectrometry and fluorescence microscopy.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and programming languages (e.g., Python or R).
- Strong motivation, curiosity, and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
Job Description:
- Participate in long-term coevolution experiments to study metabolic cooperation.
- Generate and characterize bacterial mutants.
- Conduct coculture experiments to analyse bacterial fitness.
- Use fluorescence microscopy to analyze bacterial cluster formation.
- Investigate bacteria at the single-cell level through microfluidics and flow cytometry.
- Quantify amino acid production via mass spectrometry.
- Perform statistical analyses of experimental data.
