Postdoc Position on Synthetic Approaches: The Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology in Potsdam is seeking a dedicated and research-oriented Postdoc (m/f/d) in the “Mycorrhiza and Root Biology” group led by Prof. Dr. Caroline Gutjahr. This innovative research position focuses on the molecular mechanisms that enhance arbuscular mycorrhiza (AM) fungi spore formation, essential for improving plant nutrition through a symbiotic relationship.
Postdoc Position on Synthetic Approaches to Promote Arbuscular Mycorrhiza Symbiosis
Designation:
Postdoctoral Researcher (Postdoc)
Research Area:
Plant Molecular Biology, Synthetic Biology, Mycorrhizal Fungi
Location:
Potsdam, Germany, near Berlin

- A doctoral degree (or nearing completion) in Biology or a related field, preferably with a focus on molecular, synthetic, or plant molecular biology.
- Experience in:
- Molecular biology techniques
- Synthetic biology (strongly preferred)
- Molecular biology of arbuscular mycorrhiza (strongly preferred)
- Handling of plants and/or fungi
- Plant transformation and tissue culture
- Statistical data evaluation methods
- A minimum of one first-author publication in a respected international research journal.
- Proficient command of English (oral and written).
- Strong curiosity, motivation to excel in science, a collaborative mindset, and good communication skills.
