Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD in Biological Sciences
- Experience in:
- Primary mammalian cell culture techniques
- 3D cell cultures (organoids/air-liquid interfaces)
- Microscopy of 3D cultures or tissues
- Strong focus on aging biology
Job Description
The successful candidate will:
- Receive training in the isolation and culture of primary human cells from patient lung tissues.
- Differentiate these cells into 2D and 3D tissue-like structures.
- Perform functional assays related to proteostasis, senescence, and ageing-related dysfunction.
- Collaborate with research assistants and coordinate with local hospital tissue banks for patient material.
- Enhance skills in advanced molecular/cell biology (e.g., super-resolution microscopy, multi-omics).
- Engage in professional development opportunities, including grant-writing and leadership training.
