Eligibility/Qualification
- Students: Graduate and undergraduate students must provide a letter of reference from their thesis adviser.
- Postdoctoral Researchers/Independent Writers: Should have a record of publication in the field.
- Established Scholars and Non-Professional Historians: Are also eligible for supplemental research funds.
Job Description
The Grants-in-Aid program is designed to support research activities by providing funds for:
- Travel to archives
- Oral histories
- Research assistance
- Other reasonable research costs
Grants are paid on a reimbursement basis, with a maximum grant value of $3,000 (USD) for general research and up to $6,000 for oral histories involving individuals in industrial settings.
Successful applicants are expected to submit a short report upon completion of the grant work and may receive promotion in AIP’s publications.
