Eligibility/Qualification
- General Entry Requirements:
- Completed a second-cycle degree or equivalent (minimum 240 higher education credits, including 60 in the second cycle).
- Specific Entry Requirements:
- At least 120 credits in biology or equivalent.
- Independent project in biology worth at least 30 credits at the advanced level.
Job Description
The PhD candidate will:
- Develop methods to monitor genetic diversity trends using DNA-based and proxy-based approaches.
- Use model organisms such as moose (Alces alces) and Baltic herring (Clupea harengus).
- Perform whole-genome sequencing and bioinformatics analyses.
- Address genetic associations with disease occurrence in wild populations.
- Collaborate with Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and other stakeholders on this international project.
