Job Description
Your Tasks:
- Operate and further develop a complex ion trapping experiment based on the QCCD architecture with passive and active integrated photonics.
- Develop scalable approaches for controlling ions in a multi-zone trap array.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of experimental control systems, optical, and laser setups.
- Develop and implement protocols for quantum computing and quantum sensing experiments.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of PhD students, technicians, and engineers.
Your Profile:
- PhD degree in Physics or a closely related field (experience in experimental ion trapping or neutral-atom optical tweezer platforms is ideal).
- Relevant peer-reviewed publications in the field.
- Proven ability to design, operate, and troubleshoot complex quantum physics experiments.
- Highly motivated with an independent research profile to advance quantum science and technology.
- Hands-on experience in optics, lasers, atomic physics, cryogenics, ultra-high vacuum systems, real-time control systems for quantum experiments, and integrated photonics.
- Proficient in data analysis and scientific documentation.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Experience in co-supervision of students is a plus.
