Eligibility/Qualification

Qualification RequirementDescription
EducationCompleted master studies in oceanography, marine sciences, climate science, or a related field.
Programming SkillsExperience with programming languages, preferably Python.
Language SkillsVery good command of English (oral and written).
Preferred Additional SkillsExperience in ocean dynamics, ocean/biogeochemical modelling, and handling large data sets.

Job Description

The PhD candidate will enhance the research group by contributing to:

  • Numerical modelling, analysis, and interpretation of marine biogeochemistry simulations based on NEMO.
  • Investigating the role of (sub)mesoscale dynamics in biogeochemical processes within the Agulhas region amid climate change.
  • Developing a project focus collaboratively based on scientific interests and strengths.
