Eligibility / Qualification

  • PhD (or equivalent) in:
    • Mechatronics Engineering
    • Robotics
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Computer Science or related fields
  • Strong background in automation/robotic systems development
  • Programming skills in:
    • Python, Java, or C++
  • Experience with:
    • Equipment design & sensor integration
    • Multidisciplinary teamwork
  • Desirable skills:
    • ROS/ROS2, Linux
    • Mobile robotics & algorithm design
    • Laboratory automation systems

Job Description

  • Develop and enhance robotics and automation capabilities for the Mobile Robotic Process Chemist platform.
  • Design and build next-generation hardware modules for automated chemistry systems
  • Transform prototypes into fully functional, continuously operating systems
  • Ensure reliability, chemical compatibility, and long-duration automation performance
  • Collaborate with leading researchers, including:
    • John Ward
    • Andy Cooper
    • Gabriella Pizzuto
  • Contribute to innovations impacting the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries.

Salary

£39,906 to £59,966 per annum (depending on experience)
