Eligibility/Qualification
- Educational Qualification: Doctoral degree in a related field (structural biology, pharmaceutical biology, (bio)chemistry, or microbiology).
- Required Experience:
- Structural biology (X-ray crystallography)
- Natural product research
- Desirable Knowledge:
- Enzymology
- Protein design
- Molecular biology
- Microbial metabolism
- Natural product analysis (LCMS, NMR, etc.)
- Bioinformatics
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English (C2 level)
Job Description
The successful candidate will:
- Explore the enzymatic aspects and mechanisms involved in bacterial aromatic polyketide biosynthesis.
- Collaborate with project partners to engineer and exploit involved enzymes for synthetic approaches, seeking natural product derivatives with potential antibiotic and anticancer properties.
- Assist PhD students in structural elucidation of proteins.
