Job Description
The postdoctoral researcher will focus on the following tasks:
- Establishing methods for high-resolution imaging of lipids in Plasmodium berghei using super-resolution microscopy.
- Utilizing reverse genetics to study lipid-transport proteins.
- Visualizing lipid-transport proteins and membrane structures using cryo-correlative light electron microscopy (CLEM) combined with in situ cryo-electron tomography.
- Engaging in experimental and bioinformatic work, designing experiments, and writing manuscripts.
- Supervising students and actively contributing to a collaborative lab culture.
Eligibility/Qualifications
- A doctorate or equivalent in biological sciences, completed no later than the application deadline.
- Highly motivated, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Experience in molecular cloning methods, microscopy, culturing eukaryotic parasites or mammalian cells, and expertise in membrane and lipid biology or lipidomics is strongly preferred.
