Eligibility / Qualification
Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree in a relevant field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Experience in metal additive manufacturing, particularly PBF-LB
- Expertise in microstructure characterization of Ni-based superalloys and/or Ti-alloys using techniques such as:
- SEM
- EDS
- EBSD
- TEM
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated potential in research and education/teaching activities
Preferred Qualifications

Job Description
The selected postdoctoral researcher will work on the development of robust PBF-LB processing methods for non-weldable Ni-base superalloys and Ti-alloys using advanced laser processing techniques and in-situ monitoring systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop advanced PBF-LB processing strategies
- Optimize post-AM processing including:
- Heat treatment
- Hot isostatic pressing/cracking mitigation
- Conduct hands-on manufacturing and experimental research
- Perform advanced microstructure characterization
- Carry out mechanical testing including tensile, fatigue, and creep testing
- Use CALPHAD-based software tools such as Thermo-Calc and JMatPro
- Collaborate with academic and industrial partners within CAM2 projects
- Supervise Master’s and/or PhD students
- Participate in undergraduate and Master’s level teaching activities
