Eligibility/Qualification

Required Experience

  • Experience in computational or statistical modeling of environmental or coupled human-environment systems.
  • Experience managing, processing, and analyzing large, heterogeneous datasets (quantitative and qualitative).
  • Collaboration experience with project partners and interdisciplinary research teams.

Required Education

  • PhD in environmental science, hydrology, civil or environmental engineering, geography, computational social science, or related fields focusing on quantitative modeling and/or data science.

Required Other

  • Ability to travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience publishing in peer-reviewed literature.
  • Experience in energy-water systems and climate resilience.
  • Skills in scientific programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and geospatial tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
  • Experience working in collaborative research teams.

Job Description

The Postdoctoral Fellow will support interdisciplinary research initiatives by:

  • Developing and applying spatially explicit computational models.
  • Analyzing interdisciplinary datasets that span biophysical, social, and governance domains.
  • Integrating quantitative model outputs with qualitative input (including local and Indigenous knowledge).
  • Producing geospatial scenarios and vulnerability indicators.
  • Collaborating with research teams and stakeholders to develop and utilize decision-support tools.
  • Mentoring students and developing training materials related to the research focus.
