Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in Construction Management & Engineering, Civil Engineering & Management, Architecture, Business Administration, Organizational Studies, or a related field.
  • Affinity with qualitative research methods (case studies, ethnography).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Comfortable collaborating with various organizations in the Dutch construction industry.
  • Proficiency in English; Dutch preferred or willingness to learn.

Job Description:

As a PhD candidate, you will:

  • Investigate the adaptation of construction practices under changing environmental conditions.
  • Analyze the role of digital tools and sustainability targets in the construction lifecycle, from design to demolition and reuse.
  • Conduct in-depth case studies through ethnographic observations, interviews, and document analyses.
  • Develop digital solutions and recommendations to support the adoption of material reuse and sustainability in construction.
