Job Description
NLR is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to explore the fundamentals of photo(electro)chemical transformations such as the Hydrogen Evolution Reaction (HER), CO2 Reduction Reaction (CO2RR), and Nitrate Reduction Reaction (NO3RR). This research involves the characterization of novel semiconductor materials and architectures as photoelectrodes, focusing on:
- Identifying defects
- Probing reaction mechanisms
- Tuning optoelectronic and catalytic properties
Candidates will engage in multidisciplinary team science, employing in situ spectroscopies, microscopy, and product detection tools to investigate the properties, mechanisms, and stability of new materials.
Eligibility/Qualification
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be a recent PhD graduate within the last three years.
Additional Required Qualifications:
- PhD in Chemistry, Material Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
- Established track record in scientific writing, presentations, publications, and communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in photoelectrocatalysis, electrocatalysis, or photocatalysis for fuel-forming reactions (CO2R, NO3RR, HER, OER).
- Proficiency in spectroscopic characterization of (photo/electro)catalysts and surface modifications.
- Understanding of semiconductor device physics and optoelectronic properties.
