Eligibility / Qualification

Essential Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

  • A Ph.D. (Doctoral Degree) in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated experience in catalysis research and reactor experiments.
  • Eligibility requirements must be fulfilled no later than the date the employment decision is made.

Desirable Qualifications

The following will strengthen the application:

  • Ph.D. obtained within the last three years before the application deadline.
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques for data analysis.
  • Experience with process modelling, simulation, or related computational methods.

Job Description

The selected postdoctoral researcher will contribute to a project aimed at increasing Swedish production of sustainable biofuels through efficient refining and upgrading of bio-liquids derived from forest and agricultural residues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Synthesize and characterize catalysts.
  • Conduct high-pressure hydrodeoxygenation experiments.
  • Analyze reaction products and process performance.
  • Apply AI-assisted data analysis methods to support experimental research.
  • Collaborate with researchers working on energy and systems analysis.
  • Assist in supervising Master’s and Ph.D. students.
  • Contribute to scientific publications and collaborative research activities.
