Research Area

The research will investigate the molecular mechanisms behind cryptic female choice and genetic compatibility in humans, with a focus on how the female reproductive tract influences sperm selection.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • A Master’s degree in biology, evolutionary biology, molecular biology, biomedicine, bioinformatics, or related fields.
  • Must meet the admission criteria for the LUMETO doctoral programme.
  • A good command of written and spoken English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in molecular and cell biology analyses.
  • Expertise in bioinformatics.

Job Description

The Doctoral Researcher will:

  • Engage in experimental research on genetic compatibility.
  • Conduct various molecular biology analyses (e.g., RNA sequencing, mass spectrometry).
  • Perform cell biology analyses (e.g., flow cytometry, sperm motility assays).
  • Supervise interns and thesis students and possibly teach (up to 5% of total hours).
