Eligibility / Qualification

Applicants should have:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry (preferably Organic or Organometallic Chemistry)
  • Experience in handling air- and moisture-sensitive compounds
  • Knowledge of catalytic transformations and product analysis
  • Familiarity with characterization techniques such as:
    • Multinuclear NMR spectroscopy
    • Single-crystal X-ray diffraction
    • GC-MS / LC-MS analysis
  • Strong English skills (C1 level mandatory)
  • German skills (B2/C1 preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research team
  • Willingness to supervise Bachelor’s and Master’s students

Job Description

The selected candidate will:

  • Synthesize and characterize novel iron carbene complexes
  • Develop catalytic procedures for C–C bond-forming reactions
  • Investigate reaction mechanisms using spectroscopic techniques
  • Work in a dynamic research group focused on modern organometallic chemistry
  • Gain advanced training in base-metal catalysis and experimental design
  • Contribute to mentoring junior students in the lab
